The Good at Poker.com

Poker Com is a nice online poker room. They have a good game interface that is fun as well as practical. Betting is easy, the slider and choices to bet, 2, 4, 8 times the bet, the pot, or all in are nice. The game and lobby windows can be resized to fill your screen.

Limits range from five and dime blinds to $25/$50.

They have a good deposit bonus that is relatively easy to achieve, 100% up to $100.00. They offer a lot of free roll money.

Tournament lobbies are well laid out with all the usual information. At the tournament table there is good feedback on the status of the tournament.

The Bad at Poker.com

Game choices are limited to Holdem and Omaha high only. Both have limit, pot limit and no limit versions.

Outside of free roll tournaments they do not seem to have a lot going on with promotions.

The site traffic is slow, a little over 1000 players were online on the Thursday afternoon the review was written on.

Besides a short snippet on how important shuffle security is, they don’t say anything specific.Read why this is bad

The auto post blind is set as a default. Your first time as expected you will be asked if you would like to post your blind or wait. If you select yes, this becomes your default, next time you sit down you will be posting the blind automatically. You can change the default easily enough, but you will then be prompted again and the default will once again be whatever you answer. A very poor bit of software design with this.

In the lobby they have a filter to not show play money games, but they do not have a filter to turn off real money games.

The Affiliate Program at Poker.com

The affiliate program is actually quite good. I rate it at 4 stars 5 being best. I would rate it at five stars accept that the product they offer is not very spectacular. The conversion is good, the offer is great at 40% with no BS, very straightforward percentage of the rake, not rake share, and they do not rape you on promo costs and charge backs. The problem is that players are not very sticky. I wish I could rate the room better and indeed if the room was better Poker Com could easily be a top producer. They do pretty good with banners and such and are above average overall with performance.

A little Poker History of the domain poker.com

The poker com domain name has been around for sometime. The current online poker room is the second poker room to be at this domain. The first one leased the domain name, had great traffic, and lousy software. After they lost their lease they re-branded, ripped me off and hopefully are now out of business.

It is not clear rather the current poker room also owns the domain or leases it. This is a potential problem. If they are not doing well enough to maintain the lease they may be hard to find. Personally, I think that the domain has a huge advantage for a poker portal, and offers very little for an online poker room.

Poker.com remains open for business!
Poker.com remains open for business! Posted on: 2006-10-11 01:38:26 As an online poker affiliate, you would have heard about the new legislation passed by the US Congress late last Friday that attempts to prevent poker players from transferring funds to online gaming sites. Some online poker / casino sites (predominantly public companies) have announced plans to remove the US market segment from their sites over the next few days. However, the passing of this act through Congress will have no immediate affect on operations at Poker.com. We are not currently planning to close the accounts of US players, and all funds within player accounts are perfectly safe and will always be readily accessible. We will continually monitor the legislative changes and obtain detailed legal advice on this situation, but for now it is business as usual.
